In the heart of Montemor-o-Novo, the Almansor is a place with history. Housed in a building from the early 20th century, known in the city for its architecture, the space has been a meeting point for several generations. Now it's opening its doors with a new lease of life, in the hands of chef Joana Pires, which here returns to its origins.

Joana was born in Montemor and graduated in chemistry and graphic design. She also spent time in Porto, where she began cooking professionally. She brought flavours, ideas and techniques from the restaurants she visited. At AlmansorHe combines all this with what he knows from home: the good simplicity of local ingredients and a taste for things made with time.

With few seats and a small staff, the service is friendly and almost family-like. We want you to feel welcomed. As well as the day-to-day running of the restaurant, we also do catering services e group meals by appointment.

MENU

Almansor's cuisine is made up of what Joana is: a living mixture of North and South, with stops in many other places. Each dish brings a little of what she has learnt along the way: from her childhood in Montemor, her years in Porto, her travels and the kitchens she has visited.

Rather than following a line, we like to explore, always respecting the products of the season, the flavours of the land and the people who come to our table. Some dishes have deep roots in tradition, others are more free-flowing. But all with the same care and intention: to feed well.
